4 NFL Teams That Should Trade for Falcons DE Vic Beasley

The Atlanta Falcons have far and away been the NFL's most disappointing team through the first six weeks of the 2019 campaign. They sit at 1-5, dead last in the NFC South and in the basement of the NFC.

That reality has practically forced the organization's braintrust to consider selling ahead of the Oct. 29 trade deadline, and today's report suggests that Atlanta will do just that. ESPN's Jordan Schultz revealed on Friday that stud defensive end Vic Beasley, who is a free agent at season's end, is available for trade.

Beasley hasn't exactly lived up to the billing of his All-Pro 2016 season, but we don't doubt that he'll have a plethora of buyers lined up with offers. But which teams should pull the trigger?

4. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts defense has surpassed expectations thus far even without All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard for all but two games. They'll welcome Leonard back this week, but Indianapolis would be wise to add another imposing force to their front seven. One could argue that they are a few defensive pieces away from becoming a genuine threat to the Texans in the AFC South as we all know about their ELITE offensive line and dynamic offense weapons. We aren't saying Beasley would fix everything, but acquiring him would be a good start at giving Leonard some much-needed help.

3. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are A LOT better than what their 2-2-1 record indicates as they were truly unlucky to not walk away with win's against the Chiefs and Packers in the last two weeks. We aren't taking them seriously just yet, but improving the defense would go a long away in convincing us. They currently rank 29th in the NFL in terms of total yards allowed per game. Their secondary is struggling mightily, and acquiring Beasley's pass rushing prowess would be a good start to helping out the fellas on the back end of the defense.

2. Baltimore Ravens

It's utterly bewildering to think that the Ravens defense is holding them back in 2019 after their decade-plus of sheer domination with the likes of Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed, and Haloti Ngata leading the charge. Well, those days are far from over as this year's squad ranks in the middle of the pack in virtual every statistical category. They boast next to no pass rush, and though Beasley hasn't been his world-beating self of late, he'll still provide a massive upgrade. Baltimore even traded for Marcus Peters this week, which tells you just how desperate they are on D.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Yes, the Chiefs are fresh off man-handling the Broncos on Thursday Night Football, but rattling Joe Flacco is nothing to brag about. Kansas City is still dealing with a slew of injuries on D, and they should absolutely inquire about acquiring Beasley, especially with the gauntlet of upcoming games. When healthy, a defensive line that features Chris Jones, Frank Clark and Beasley could be one of the best that the NFL has to offer. Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes won't come close to winning any trophies if their defense continues to hold them back.
