4 Trade Destinations for Odell Beckham Jr. That Would Turn the NFL Upside Down

There has been speculation that Odell Beckham Jr. could be suiting up for a different team next season. The Browns superstar wide receiver was noncommittal when asked about his future with the team, and NFL insider Jay Glazer has reported that Beckham wants out of Cleveland.

With that in mind, here are four possible trade destinations for the three-time Pro Bowler that would change the dynamic of the NFL.

4. Dallas Cowboys

America's Team hasn't lived up to expectations in 2019, but a lot of their struggles can be attributed to poor coaching. Although they are 6-7 on the year, it's hard to deny that the Cowboys' roster is loaded with talent. Beckham playing alongside Amari Cooper (if the Cowboys can re-sign him) would certainly strike fear into the hearts of opposing secondaries and make Dallas one of the favorites in the NFC. On the other hand, if Cooper walks, Beckham could slide in and become the No. 1 WR.

3. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners took a dramatic leap forward in 2019. Their passing offense improved after they traded for Emmanuel Sanders midway through the season, but he will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. They have already proven that receivers can quickly have success in their system. Replacing Sanders with OBJ would be an upgrade for San Francisco at one of their weaker positions and it would allow them to become more balanced offensively.

2. New England Patriots

Despite boasting one of the best defenses in the NFL, the Patriots have been held back by their underwhelming offense in 2019. Some have already surmised that Tom Brady will not return to New England next season if there aren't any drastic changes made. Trading for Beckham would definitely qualify as such. Adding an explosive pass catcher like OBJ to the team would terrify the league, extend their closing Super Bowl window, and once again put the Pats as the favorites in the AFC.

Pairing Michael Thomas with Beckham would instantly create the best receiving duo the NFL has seen in recent memory. This might be one of the few teams in the league that would acquire the sixth-year receiver with the intention of making him their No. 2 option. Evil genius Sean Payton would have a field day calling plays with these two pass catchers at his disposal, and the Saints would easily be able to put up 35-plus plus points a game. This might be the most horrifying hypothetical of them all. What we'd probably need here is for Drew Brees to take a pay cut in order to make this super team a reality.
