Some Yankees Fans Actually Booed Giancarlo Stanton in His 1st Game Back From Injury

Can you ever truly please Yankees fans? Apparently not.

After being given a hero's welcome before his first game in two and a half months, Giancarlo Stanton caught the ire of the Yankee Stadium boo birds once again, going 0-3 with two strikeouts. After his second K of the night, some spoiled Yankees fans had the audacity to boo him.

This can't be real. Surprisingly, a guy who hasn't faced major league pitching since early April didn't hit two home runs in his first game back. It's one game.

Keep in mind, this is the same Stanton who made a terrific leaping catch in right field. Something tells me they weren't booing him then.

Stanton has fallen victim to Yankees fans overhyping him and being disappointed when he doesn't meet unrealistic expectations. Despite playing almost every game in 2018 while hitting 38 home runs and 100 RBIs when several key Yankees missed time with injury, Yankees fans jeered him for not hitting 60 home runs and striking out a tad too much.

Stanton is really good, he had one bad game. Can you live with that, Yankees fans?
