Mike McCarthy could end up returning to the Dallas Cowboys after all

After another rough season for the Dallas Cowboys, it sure seemed like head coach Mike McCarthy was going to be on his way out of town. Last season, Dallas didn't live up to the hype, but Jerry Jones brought back the veteran coach.
However, he did so without giving him an extension, meaning this would likely be McCarthy's last year in town. With that said, McCarthy could end up back in 2025 after all. According to Tom Pelissero, McCarthy and Jerry Jones are set to speak about making something happen:
After several days of discussions about the 2024 season and the future, #Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and coach Mike McCarthy remain open to moving forward together and the sides are expected to open talks today on a new contract to keep him in Dallas, per sources.

Not long ago, the Bears put in a request to interview McCarthy for the team's opening, but Dallas put its foot down. Jones has seen that other teams would snatch up McCarthy, which is making him think twice about letting him go. Soon enough we'll find out if a new contract will be signed by McCarthy to stick around with America's Team.
