North Carolina fires head coach Mack Brown in surprise move
Who saw this coming?
There are a lot of surprised college football fans out there. Earlier in the week, Mack Brown confirmed that he wasn't going to retire and that he'd be back for the 2025 season with the North Carolina Tar Heels. People were excited about the news.
However, things have changed. On Tuesday morning, big news broke stating that UNC has instead decided to fire the legendary Brown. He'll coach in the season finale against NC State, but it's up in the air if he'll be around for the bowl game.
Since the news broke, North Carolina has lost a 2026 four-star commit and there are whispers that there could be a big exodus once the transfer portal opens up. This decision has caught a lot of people off guard and understandably so.
