Notre Dame books its trip to CFP semifinals after taking down Georgia
Marcus Freeman is one happy man right now.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are one win away from reaching the National Championship Game. If this feels like a dream for fans, we don't blame them. Notre Dame has silenced plenty of haters, taking down Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
It wasn't a pretty win and things were far from perfect on both sides of the ball, but quarterback Riley Leonard made the necessary plays when needed and Marcus Freeman definitely outcoached Kirby Smart. What a night for the Irish.
In the end, Notre Dame posted a 23-10 win, ending the campaign for Kirby Smart and his players. Next up is a dance with Penn State - the winner of that game will indeed move on to play for the natty.
