Ohio State humbled Tennessee with 42-17 win in the College Football Playoff

This was an old school smackdown at The Shoe. Ohio State hosted the Tennessee Vols in the first round of the College Football Playoff and the expectation was that this was going to be a close game from start to finish.
Instead, Ohio State landed the first few punches and they couldn't stop hitting Tennessee while it was down. In the end, Ryan Day and Co. cruised to a 42-17 win, with quarterback Will Howard looking strong. Josh Heupel and his players were humbled in this one.
"You gotta play better, you gotta coach better...there's a standard inside of our building and we're gonna continue to grow."

Tennessee was never really in it, which was shocking. With the win, Ohio State will return to practice and get ready to take on No. 1 Oregon in Eugene in the CFP quarterfinals. Heupel and the Vols will be watching the rest of the playoffs from home.
