After six seasons in Green Bay and eight in the NFL, Davon House is coming home to hang up his cleats. In an official statement from general manager Brian Gutekunst, House re-signed with the Packers in order to retire as an official member of the team Tuesday.

Having last appeared in 2018 as part of a second stint with the Pack, House calls it a career after 87 total games between Green Bay and Jacksonvile.

Despite not playing football at all until he was a junior in high school, House became a two-time First Team All-WAC selection at New Mexico State and a fourth-round selection for Green Bay in the 2011 NFL Draft. His best seasons as a Packer came in 2013 and '14, and he rode that production to a four-year, $24.5 million free agent deal with the Jaguars. In his first season in Jacksonville, he set a single-season franchise record with 23 passes defended, far and away his career best.

After returning to Green Bay in 2017, he later saw his 2018 season cut short due to injuries, and he didn't play football last year. Now, it's all come full circle: Davon's back at the house, right where he belongs.
