Alshon Jeffery Officially Ruled Out Against Patriots
By Parker White
To beat a team as good as the New England Patriots, it usually helps to have all your big-time players suited up and on the field.
Unfortunately for the Philadelphia Eagles, they'll be without wide receiver Alshon Jeffery against the Pats on Sunday. The wideout was ruled out after he didn't practice all week while nursing a left ankle injury.
Jeffery could've been a nice mismatch for the Patriots secondary. In eight games this year, the Eagles wideout has 34 receptions for 353 yards and three touchdowns.
He's featured in all but one game for the Eagles this season, sitting out in Week 3 due to injury, so this will be the second time he's sidelined this year.
Jeffery hasn't been his usual dominant self this season, but his absence will still hurt an Eagles team up against one of the league's most feared secondaries. He hasn't found the end zone in over a month and with him sitting out Sunday, that stretch will continue.
On top of Jeffery's absence, the Eagles will be without linebacker Nigel Bradham for the fourth straight game, as well as Darren Sproles whose season is over. Meanwhile, starting running back Jordan Howard is listed as questionable.
