This Trade Package Could Land the Mets Francisco Lindor in a Deal With the Indians

There are several MLB teams who will have pressure to make the postseason in 2020. One of them is the New York Mets, who have a rookie manager in Carlos Beltran.

That's not going to keep the fans from expecting a division title and more, so GM Brodie Van Wagenen has to keep the foot on the gas pedal like he did last winter.

If Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor becomes available, the Mets need to be in the mix.

Lindor is two years away from free agency, so it would cost an arm and a leg to get him, especially for a team like the Mets would don't have a top-tier farm system.

However, the Mets do have some young but already established big leaguers that could make a blockbuster deal a reality.

The Indians need outfield help, so make Michael Conforto the headliner. Shortstop Amed Rosario, who actually had a nice year in 2019, becomes expendable with the addition of Lindor, and with Pete Alonso manning first base for the foreseeable future, there isn't a spot for Dominic Smith, who showed some power in a limited role last season.

Along with those three players, add New York's top two prospects, shortstop Ronny Mauricio and third baseman Brett Baty, and you have yourself a pretty loaded package for Cleveland's face of the franchise.

If the Tribe is willing to part ways with their star shortstop, this may be the package that gets the deal done.
