49ers kicker Chase McLaughlin had the chance to play the role of hero. After making a kick to send their Monday Night Football tilt to overtime in the first place, the expectation was that McLaughlin would then end the game when gifted the opportunity with just minutes remaining in overtime.

Instead, the 49ers kicker missed by a mile, and twitter had a field day as a result.
