3 Biggest Trap Games for the Packers in 2020

The Green Bay Packers have a lot to prepare for entering the 2020 NFL season. The Pack must maintain focus despite the growing Aaron Rodgers drama if they want to return to the NFC Championship Game. With their attention pulled in multiple directions, there are plenty of opportunities for the Packers to drop some easy wins.

Even the best teams fall victim to a "trap game" or two per season, and these three matchups could be troublesome for the Packers if they aren't prepared for them.

3. Week 15 vs Carolina Panthers

The Green Bay Packers' matchup with the Carolina Panthers is sandwiched between two much more important games. Week 14, the Packers will travel to Detroit to play their division rivals, and in Week 16, the Packers will face the AFC-contending Tennessee Titans. With those two key matchups bookending their game against the Panthers, Green Bay could end up dropping what should be an easy win. Hopefully, this time around, it's a bit easier for them to contain Christian McCaffrey than it was in 2019.

2. Week 7 at Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are a solid team, even without star receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The bigger threat for the Packers comes in the following week, however, with a matchup at home against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings-Packers NFC North rivalry is one of the most intense in the NFL. The Packers could easily find themselves taking a loss in Week 7 if they end up too focused on the game ahead, especially with Deshaun Watson looming.

1. Week 11 at Indianapolis Colts

In Week 11, the Green Bay Packers will travel to face Marlon Mack and the Indianapolis Colts. Green Bay could easily end up becoming a victim of tunnel vision, due to their home matchup on Sunday Night Football with the Chicago Bears the following week. The Packers will have a lot on their hands against an all-around solid Colts team that went 7-9 last season and added quarterback Philip Rivers in the offseason.
