3 Bold Predictions for Georgia vs Notre Dame Top-10 Clash
By Michael Luciano
Two years after taking down a Brandon Wimbush-led Notre Dame in South Bend, Jake Fromm and No. 3 Georgia welcome Ian Book and the No. 7 Irish down to Athens for what should be one of the best regular season games of the college football season. With half the players on the field guaranteed to get NFL looks, this one could really go either way.
3. Ian Book Throws for 300 Yards
For all of Ian Book's faults, he has proven himself to be quite the lethal dropback passer when he gets into a rhythm. Georgia's secondary, still reeling from the loss of DeAndre Baker, has yet to be tested through three games this season. Book and Brian Kelly's offense should have an easy time moving downfield if the offensive line can withstand the Georgia pass rush.
2. Dominic Blaylock Crosses 100 Yards
Want to feel old? Dominic Blaylock is the son of former NBA star Mookie Blaylock, and the true freshman has wasted no time becoming a key member of a decimated Georgia receiving corps, picking up 160 yards and scoring twice. This unit doesn't have a bonafide star, but this game could be the coming out party for Blaylock, who will emerge as a weapon for the playoff-hungry Bulldogs.
1. Georgia Survives and Wins it by Less Than a Touchdown Late
Between Julian Okwara, Khalid Kareem, and Alohi Gilman on defense, the Irish should be able to limit Jake Fromm and the Georgia attack just enough to keep things close. Having said that, D'Andre Swift is just built differently. Swift should set the tone on the ground for Georgia, which ultimately leads them to a close win over the Irish, which makes them almost locks for the playoff if they run the table in the regular season.
