3 Bold Predictions for the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship
The Tennessee Titans have already taken down the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens this month. Next up is yet another road challenge against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Titans will need a few bold predictions to come true to pull off another upset and reach the Super Bowl as a No. 6 seed.
3. Ryan Tannehill Will Throw for Over 150 Yards
A quarterback throwing for 150 yards is not usually a bold prediction. But it is for Ryan Tannehill this postseason, after he has failed to even reach 90 yards in either of the first two games this month. The Titans may get into a shootout, and Tannehill will have to throw more than usual. He should have a few big plays against an injured Chiefs defense.
2. Derrick Henry Finishes With Over 250 Total Yards
Derrick Henry is peaking at the right time. He put up 195 rushing yards against the Ravens, and had 182 against the Patriots. Henry can also be used in the passing game, and will reach his full star potential Sunday, as he accounts for much of the Titans offense once again. While Tannehill's numbers will be up, about half of his yards will go to Henry. Fatigue? What fatigue?
1. Defense Holds the Chiefs Under 28 Points
The Chiefs hung 51 points on the Houston Texans and looked unstoppable. Yet this Titans defense is no joke, and made the Patriots and Ravens look like non-playoff teams in back-to-back weeks. The defense allowed a combined 25 points in those two games, and held the Chiefs to 32 in a Week 10 win. The Titans offense can wear down opposing defenses, and the defense will do the same.
