3 Dak Prescott Highlights That Prove Cowboys Must Pay Him Immediately
By Michael Luciano
Some think the Dallas Cowboys have a difficult choice on their hands with Dak Prescott, as the stud signal caller is looking for a huge new contract. In reality, there isn't a choice, as Prescott has proven to be one of the most dynamic, lethal passers in all of football, especially over the last few years. The best plays of the last few season show Prescott's flashes of brilliance are up there with just about anyone.
3. Dropping Dimes to Amari Cooper
This may look like a simple pitch and catch on a go route, but these types of throws are the ones that Dak has started to make with more consistency. Dropping it right in the bucket from 30 yards out while remaining calm and collected in the pocket is a must for any superstar quarterback, and Prescott has shown that he has developed impeccable touch on throws downfield since his rookie year.
2. Making Something Out of Nothing Against the Vikings
Some call Dak a running quarterback, but he's more of a scrambler, using his legs to escape once the pocket breaks down and make plays. With several Minnesota Vikings defensive linemen breathing down his neck, Prescott managed to slither out of the pocket and throw nearly 30 yards across his body to an open Amari Cooper to keep the drive alive. The amount of quarterbacks with the arm strength and mobility to make that throw is slim, at best.
1. His 4th and 15 Heave vs the Giants
This heave last year as the Cowboys secured a playoff spot was nothing short of sublime, and it was clearly the best play of his entire career, On 4th and 15, it's either convert or lose. Prescott, who once again escaped the pocket and threw across his body, chucked it 40 yards and managed to find Cole Beasley in stride in the back of the end zone. The Cowboys would later take the lead on a two-point conversion and seal a 36-35 win.
