3 Difficult Roster Decisions the Seahawks Will Face This Offseason
The Seahawks are in the middle of another postseason run, once again hoping to get to the Super Bowl and bring the Lombardi trophy back to Seattle. But as great as this campaign has been this fall and winter, tough decisions are on the way for John Schneider and Co.
Here are three notable ones Hawks fans need to keep in mind once the offseason arrives.
3. What Will They Do With OL Germain Ifedi?
A consistent starter at tackle for the Seahawks, Germain Ifedi's time with Seattle has been nothing short of inconsistent. While he's shown plenty of potential at times, his tenure has been overshadowed by some wild struggles. Last offseason, Seattle declined his fifth-year team option. Ifedi entered the season knowing it could be his last with the Seahawks. We'll have to wait and see if Seattle gives him a prove-it deal or lets him head elsewhere.
2. Do They Re-Sign CJ Prosise?
Injuries have completely derailed CJ Prosise's career in Seattle. He really announced his arrival with the team with a 72-yard touchdown against the Eagles in November of 2016, but his highlights have been limited since. In his four years with the team, he's only been able to play in 25 games, posting 264 rushing yards and two touchdowns. This was supposed to be his year to bounce back, but he appeared in nine games and suffered a broken arm in Week 16 against the Cardinals, ending his season. Is it time for the Hawks to look elsewhere for a No. 2 back? It's looking that way.
1. Break the Bank to Bring Back Jadeveon Clowney?
Since the moment he joined the team, Jadeveon Clowney has been a fan favorite. Seahawks Nation loves him and the incredible motor he plays with. However, his contract is up at the end of the year and he'll undoubtedly be looking for a big payday. Will Schneider give it to him? When Clowney is on the field for the Seahawks, he completely changes the game for the defense. Letting him walk would be devastating. He'll want big money, though, so Seattle will have to decide if they can afford to keep him in town.
