3 Dodgers Prospects Who Should be Untouchable in Trade Talks

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a downright historic first half to the 2019 regular season. Holding the best record in the MLB, the Dodgers will obviously be buyers heading into the July 31 trade deadline, considering they fell short in the past two World Series.

While the Dodgers should do whatever it takes to bolster their already stout squad, here are three prospects they mustn't include in trade offers.

1. Dustin May - RHP

Dustin May turned heads at this year's MLB All-Star Futures Game not only with his red flow, but with a dominant performance. In one inning of work, May got three batters out on eight pitches, one of which was a 98 mph fastball. In 17 minor league games this season, May has a 3.83 ERA, with 92 strikeouts and just 25 walks. May is just too valuable for the Dodgers to surrender, no matter how tempting an offer they may receive.

2. Gavin Lux - INF

Gavin Lux has been tearing it up in the minors this season. After spending the start of the year in Double-A, Lux received a promotion to Triple-A, and to say he's been dominant is an understatement. In his 11 appearances with Oklahoma City, Lux has recorded a ridiculous .478 batting average with 22 hits and 11 RBI. Lux is on a meteoric rise in the Dodgers organization, and it would be foolish for Los Angeles to send him elsewhere.

3. Keibert Ruiz

Of course, Los Angeles' No. 1 prospect makes the list. Keibert Ruiz is viewed as one of the best all-around catching prospects in the entire league. Ruiz created a reputation as a hard out, as he's only struck out 20 times in 261 at-bats this season. Not to mention, he possesses speed behind the plate that most catchers lack. Keibert Ruiz is the epitome of an untouchable piece in trade negotiations.
