3 Drafts the Seahawks Wish They Could Completely Do Over
By Michael Luciano
The Seattle Seahawks have made a habit out of adding some truly unusual first-round picks, only to get back in Draft Twitter's good graces after knocking it out of the park in the later rounds.
While Seattle's solid drafting built them into a champion and one of the most consistent winners in the league over the last decade, they've made their fair share of blunders and would probably like a do-over on these three drafts.

Here's a fun homework assignment. Look through any pre-draft big board and try to find one person who had LJ Collier as anything better than a fourth-round pick. Collier somehow went 29th overall when Seattle took him a year ago. He proved the doubters right by amassing just three tackles, while second-round safety Marquise Blair struggled for playing time. If Seattle could wave a magic wand and turn back the clock, we're sure GM John Schneider would have loved to have gotten his hands on guys like Elgton Jenkins or Sean Murphy-Bunting.

The Seahawks used the 62nd overall pick in this draft on Texas A&M running back Christine Michael, who ran for just 1,100 yards and was out of the league in a few years. In the next 14 picks after the Michael selection, Travis Kelce, Tyrann Mathieu, Keenan Allen, and Terron Armstead all went off the board. Third-round defensive lineman Jordan Hill played just 27 games, and was picked before Brandon Williams and David Bakhtiari. Just a complete tire fire all-around.

The 2009 draft was pretty awful in the first round, as Mark Sanchez disappointed for nearly a decade and No. 2 overall pick Jason Smith became one of the biggest busts in NFL history. However, Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry looked to be one of the safest players in this draft, which made him an easy choice for the Seahawks at No. 4 overall. Unfortunately, Curry, now a coaching assistant with the Seahawks, never adapted to the physicality of the pro game, and he was cut after just 2.5 seasons. At least they got star center Max Unger out of this draft.
