3 Eagles Defenders Who Completely Blew it Against the Dolphins
By Scott Rogust
Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles offense failed to show up at home against a stout Seattle Seahawks team. The good news is that the offense awakened Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
The problem is, the defense didn't even arrive to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Dolphins. Miami's offense, led by journeyman veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, dropped 37 points on the supposed capable Eagles' defensive unit.
While you can say the whole defense put up a stinker, there are three defenders in particular that stand out as guilty parties.
3. Nigel Bradham
Despite the Dolphins strutting around South Beach with a W, they did almost hand Philadelphia the game. Look no further than linebacker Nigel Bradham, who had a interception off Ryan Fitzpatrick in his hands during the fourth quarter but couldn't hold onto it. That's a play Bradham needs to make, especially in crunch time.
2. Ronald Darby
Come on, you had to know Ronald Darby would make the list, even with his interception off Ryan Fitzpatrick on the first play of the game. Darby was exposed by fifth-year "Breakout Player of the Year" candidate DeVante Parker in the first quarter. Fitzpatrick threw up a floater and Darby was viciously mossed by Parker, resulting in a 43-yard touchdown. The cornerback is set to hit free agency after the season, and you better believe this game will cost him some money.
1. Jalen Mills
The Eagles secondary was toasted and roasted throughout Sunday's matinee game. One of the main culprits was cornerback Jalen Mills. On one play, he was mossed by Parker in the end zone for a touchdown. Then he surrendered another score on the exact same route by tight end Mike Gesicki. Just a few days ago, Mills was asking for Pro Bowl votes. After this performance, we hope Mills enjoyed his time in Florida because he's not going back this year.
