With the MLB postseason kicking off on Tuesday night, the Cleveland Indians will be watching the action from the comfort of their homes and couches. Yup, after an up-and-down year, there's no playoff appearance for the AL Central powerhouse.

For fans, the feeling is undoubtedly terrible. But the misery must shift to a positive focus on the front office's ability to improve this team. With that being said, here's a look at three free agents the team must focus on signing.

3. Cole Hamels

Cole Hamels still has some good years left in him. Despite the fact he's turning 36 in late December, he's coming off a 2019 where he posted a 3.81 ERA. He won't be looked at to be the ace of a rotation, but he's more than a quality arm who can make a difference and provide formidable depth. Plus, adding a veteran lefty with a ton of postseason experience is always a smart move.

2. Mike Moustakas

Having a player whose versatility allows him to play multiple positions is invaluable in the bigs. For the Indians, they've got to keep this in mind and make a run to land Mike Moustakas. Known mostly for being a stud on the hot corner, the Moose could make a monster difference for Cleveland next season at second base. He's as sound as can be in the infield and his 35 homers and 87 RBI this past season shows how dynamite he is as the dish. With Kipnis likely gone, this would be a great move to replace him.

1. Jake Odorizzi

Though Jake Odorizzi and the Twins are in the postseason hunt, that doesn't mean it's too early for the Indians to start scouting him. The righty went 15-7 in the regular season, with an impressive 3.51 ERA and 178 strikeouts. He'll be a popular target in free agency, but could be just what the Indians need to amp up their starting rotation at a solid price. And what would be sweeter than poaching him from a division rival?
