3 Free Agents the Packers Need to Sign to Get Back to the Super Bowl

Matt LaFleur's new-look Green Bay Packers managed to go 13-3 in the regular season and win a playoff game despite some noticeable holes in their roster construction. Their linebacking corps lacked depth, the tight end position offered them little, and they played almost the entire year without a true No. 2 wide receiver. With money to spend in free agency, these three players could step in and fill those cracks on Green Bay's depth chart.

3. Eric Ebron

After catching 13 touchdowns in his first (and Andrew Luck's final) season in Indianapolis, Ebron regressed mightily in 2019, catching just three touchdowns and falling behind Jack Doyle on the depth chart. Jimmy Graham has given the Packers next to nothing in the passing game, while 2019 third-round pick Jace Sternberger barely saw the field and had to wait until the playoffs to record his first catch. Ebron would be a risky addition, but he will at least give Green Bay some athleticism at tight end, harkening back to the Jared Cook era.

2. Joe Schobert

GM Brian Gutekunst will need to figure out a way to re-sign linebacker Blake Martinez, who is also a free agent this offseason. With or without Martinez in the fold, adding the Wisconsin native and former Badger Schobert would be a terrific move for Mike Pettine's defense. Schobert has recorded at least 103 tackles, two sacks, and an interception in each of the last three seasons. His four picks this year prove he's a better cover linebacker than Martinez, and he'd be a perfect fit in the middle of the action for Pettine's defense.

1. AJ Green

If Green, who didn't play this year due to injury, is able to get back to the form that saw him make the Pro Bowl year in and year out despite having Andy Dalton as his quarterback, Green Bay's offense could make the leap from good to great. Even as good as Davante Adams is, Aaron Rodgers hasn't had a wide receiver of Green's caliber. When you put BOTH of them on the field at the same time, Rodgers could return to his MVP level with the most feared WR tandem in football.
