3 Most Overrated Undefeated NFL Teams

After three weeks, teams quarterbacked by Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford are currently undefeated. As you can probably tell, one of these is not like the others. While all undefeated NFL teams should be commended for their excellent start to the season, these three could be considered fool's gold and are prime candidates to regress to the mean.

3. Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen is a much-improved passer from his rookie season, but his turnover issues and accuracy woes are still real concerns. While they have a legit elite defense that's Top 5 in the league, their numbers were inflated by playing the Giants, Jets and Bengals, all of whom have a combined one win. Next week against New England will be a good litmus test for Sean McDermott's crew.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Many have declared Jimmy Garoppolo the greatest thing since sliced bread, but we have yet to see 16 full games as a starter to gauge his abilities. While he has made some nice throws as the 49ers started 3-0 by beating the Buccaneers, Bengals and Steelers, he has been wildly inconsistent, throwing nearly as many interceptions as touchdowns. Once they start playing the Rams and the Seahawks, the Niners' inconsistencies could be exposed in a major way.

1. Detroit Lions

The Lions are a confusing study. While they are vastly improved from last year, evidenced by them beating the Chargers and Eagles, the jury is still out on Detroit. Matthew Stafford is playing just about as well as he has in recent years, and the defense remains solid if uninspiring, but they managed to grind out some tough wins. Time will tell if Matt Patricia has turned the corner or if the magic will run out like it has with all other Belichick assistants.
