3 Perfect Destinations for Bounce Back Candidate King Felix Hernandez

Reports indicate that Felix Hernandez has no intentions of retiring, even though he's statistically been of the MLB's worst pitchers across the last two campaigns.

King Felix's career with the Seattle Mariners has surely concluded, and in perfect fashion at that, but it's largely expected that Hernandez will be in another uniform come Spring Training.

But which clubs should take a chance on the former AL Cy Young? Here are a few to keep in mind as the New Year approaches.

3. Miami Marlins

Listen, Hernandez didn't do much winning with Seattle, and he's probably just itching for a club to take a chance on him, regardless of the likely minor league contract heading his way. Enter the Marlins, who are in a complete rebuild. They should be looking to add a veteran presence that will help mold their young core of hurlers. King Felix would absolutely be up for that task.

2. Cincinnati Reds

The offseason signing of Wade Miley provides some much-needed balance to Cincinnati's rotation, but it's far from perfect. Signing Hernandez to a minor league contract with a chance to compete the No. 5 spot should absolutely be a priority for the Reds, especially at this stage in the offseason where all of the heralded arms have been gobbled up. Competition could bring out the best that the 33-year-old right-hander has left to offer to the game.

1. Milwaukee Brewers

As stated earlier, Hernandez was inept on the bump in 2018 and 2019, but the Brewers rotation shouldn't inspire ANY confidence in Milwaukee natives. Would it really hurt to sign a veteran arm that will be motivated to change the narrative attached to his name in the latter stages of his career? Hernandez will come on the cheap too.
