3 Players the Seahawks are Guaranteed to Lose in Free Agency

The Seattle Seahawks finished their season 11-5 with big hopes for the future. Russell Wilson continues to be one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the NFL, but this roster still needs some work. The front office has $44 million in cap space to work with, but that won't be enough to keep everyone around.

Here are three Seahawks free agents who won't be back in Seattle next year.

3. Ezekiel Ansah

In 2015, Ezekiel Ansah was selected for the Pro Bowl. In 2019, he only played in 11 games. He was considered one of the best pass rushers available last offseason, but injuries limited him to only seven games in his contract year. That allowed the Seahawks to pounce and add him on a one-year deal, but the pairing didn't work out. It's hard to believe Seattle will give him more money to stay around after he recorded just 18 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

2. Mike Iupati

The Seahawks have had six different starting left guards in as many years, and while 32-year-old veteran Mike Iupati was serviceable in the role this past season, it looks as though he'll be moving elsewhere. He has a history of neck, back, shoulde, and foot injuries, all of which have popped up in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He's not getting any younger, so Seattle will look for a suitable replacement.

1. Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch retired in 2015. His return to the league was a shock in 2017 when he signed back on with the Oakland Raiders. It was even more shocking when he re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks at the end of last season for their run playoff run. He was a force as usual on offense, but ultimately, it's time for him to go again. It was fun while it lasted, but the Seahawks still have Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny and don't need to spend more on their backfield.
