3 Players the Braves Need to Target in a Trade This Offseason
By Parker White

It would be no surprise if the Atlanta Braves built their roster internally and through free agency, but with the young talent they have at the minor league level, you can never count them out of the trade market. They can acquire just about anyone they want, and this might be the offseason they finally make that big trade to put them over the top.
So, here are three players the Braves need to target in a trade this offseason.
3. OF Trey Mancini
Atlanta could kill two birds with one stone with the acquisition of Trey Mancini. Not only would he provide a right-handed power threat in a corner outfield spot, but he could cover for Freddie Freeman at first base if he misses time or needs a breather. Unless the Orioles view Mancini as the face of their franchise and the player they want to build around, Baltimore should look to get whatever they can for a player in his late-20's coming off a 35-homer season.
2. RHP Kirby Yates
The Braves will have Mark Melancon returning and Shane Greene has an option they could pick up. That doesn't mean they should ignore their bullpen, which was very inconsistent last year. So, why not go after the league's saves leader, Kirby Yates? Maybe the San Diego Padres want to keep him around because they are looking to compete, but if the Braves offer a respectable trade package, the Padres have to seriously consider it.
1. OF Mookie Betts
It doesn't appear that Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts is going to sign an extension, so he'll be on the trade block this winter. He's one of the best players in the game, and even though he has one more year until free agency, he'll command a lot via trade. With the Braves' abundance of minor leaguers, they could potentially entice Boston with a package of prospects in order to land Betts. The 2018 AL MVP could instantly make the Braves World Series favorites in 2020.
