On Friday, reports confirmed that Alabama quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa entered the transfer portal after appearing in three games for the Crimson Tide last season. He signed with the program as a 4-star prospect in 2019, but didn't see a path into the starting the lineup even after the departure of his brother, Tua, who was drafted No. 5 overall by the Miami Dolphins.

Mac Jones, who has two years of eligibility remaining, will start for Nick Saban next season, which means that Tagovailoa likely would've rode the pine for at least two more campaigns.

With all of this in mind, let's highlight three potential transfer destinations for the Hawaii native.

3. LSU

Tagovailoa is looking for playing time, and he shouldn't at all consider the rivalry potential landing spots have with Alabama, despite how well the program treated his brother. Following the departure of Joe Burrow, LSU is set to roll with an unproven Myles Brennan under center next season. If the NCAA was to grant Tagovailoa an instant eligibility waiver, the young QB could compete for the starting job. The revenge narrative makes this pairing mouthwatering.

2. Tennessee

Jarrett Guarantano, a three-year starter for the Volunteers, is entering his senior season. As things stand, head coach Jeremy Pruitt has JT Shrout and Brian Maurer waiting in the wings. To say that they've underwhelmed in their cameos would be an understatement. Worst-case scenario, Tagovailoa sits for just one season. Best case? He gives Guarantano a run for his money for the starting job.

1. Florida International

Don't be surprised if Tagovailoa looks to transfer to a school that would keep him close to his brother and family, who will likely move to Miami (if they haven't already) to be close to Tua as he embarks on his NFL career. More importantly, however, is the fact that FIU's starter from 2019, James Morgan, was taken in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the New York Jets. If it's a shot at being QB1 that Tagovailoa wants, than the Panthers are definitely a potential landing spot. His only competition would be with former 3-star recruit Caleb Lynum.
