3 Prospects Georgia Must Prioritize With NCAA Dead Period Ending Thursday

With February's National Signing Day less than three weeks away, it's time for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs to put the finishing touches on the 2020 class. While UGA added 17 players during the Early Signing Period, there's still plenty of work to be done.

And with the NCAA Dead Period ending on Thursday, recruiting will once again be a top priority starting Friday morning. There are three players in particular the staff must get on the horn with.

3. CB Ennis Rakestraw

While Ennis Rakestraw may only be a 3-star prospect, don't let that ranking fool you. He has seen his recruitment explode over the last month, picking up offers from Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Alabama, Michigan State and many others. He has an official visit to Athens set for Jan. 31, but he'll also be heading to Missouri and Alabama. It's looking like an SEC battle to land him.

2. S Avantae Williams

A 4-star safety, Williams has picked up nearly 30 offers this recruiting cycle, but looks to be down to Georgia, Florida and Miami. Similar to Rakestraw, he'll also be taking his official visit to Georgia on Jan. 31 in what figures to be a monster OV weekend for the Bulldogs. He's ranked the No. 9 safety in the country.

1. RB Daijun Edwards

With 5-star running back Zach Evans officially gone from Georgia, the Bulldogs have a void to fill at RB for the class. Will 4-star speedster Daijun Edwards fill it? He's set to take an official visit to Athens on Jan. 24. He'll also be visiting Arkansas and Florida State before making his decision.
