The Kansas City Royals are still rebuilding, but that doesn't mean there's not talent on the roster. Despite the low expectations for the 2020 season, KC boasts a handful of players with All-Star caliber talent. It remains unclear when the 2020 All-Star Game will be held given the current state of baseball amid the coronavirus pandemic, but when play does resume, fans in Kansas City should expect big things out of these three studs.

3. Adalberto Mondesi

Adalberto Mondesi has some holes in his game, but he plays to his strengths. One of the quicker players in all of baseball, Mondesi swiped 43 bags in 2019, while playing in just 102 games. He also led the bigs with 10 triples despite his shortened season. The 24-year-old needs to show more plate discipline, but he's certainly on the right track towards an All-Star nod.

2. Jorge Soler

Jorge Soler had long been touted as one of baseball's best prospects, but never managed to take the next step. Then 2019 happened. Soler broke out in a big way, leading the AL with 48 home runs and logging a .922 OPS. While he's still going to strikeout far more frequently than fans would like, his power at the plate more than makes up for it and could see him earn a trip to the All-Star Game in 2020. At the very least expect to see the slugger in the Home Run Derby.

1. Whit Merrifield

Merrifield represented the Royals in the 2019 All-Star game, and you can bet he'll do so again in 2020. He led the AL in hits with 206 last year and tied Mondesi with 10 triples, all the while stealing 20 bases and maintaining a .302 batting average. He's the Royals best player, and has been for the past couple of seasons. Despite the trade rumors surrounding the 30-year-old, he'll likely make another All-Star appearance for KC this season.
