3 September Call-Ups That Can Help Braves Clinch the NL East
By Parker White

We are less than a month away from September rolling around, which means teams can expand their rosters by making timely promotions. For contenders, that means depth will be added, while the occasional key member of the farm has a surprising impact.
Here are three players the Atlanta Braves can bring up who will help them clinch the NL East.
3. 1B Lucas Duda
On Monday, the Braves claimed veteran first baseman Lucas Duda off waivers. He'll go to Triple-A to get his swing right, as his 2019 campaign in Kansas City hasn't gone well. Atlanta brought Duda aboard last year, and in 20 games (18 at-bats) he had three extra-base hits and an .864 OPS. Duda won't get playing time with Freddie Freeman at first, but he proved to be a threat as a pinch-hitter late in games. He'll help shore things up down the stretch.
2. RHP Patrick Weigel
Atlanta has a treasure trove of pitchers ready to go down at Triple-A, including top pitching prospect Ian Anderson, but one arm they shouldn't hesitate to bring up and give the ball to is right-hander Patrick Weigel. He has spent time in the bullpen this year, and in 21 games between Double-A and Triple-A, he's posted a 2.76 ERA with 55 strikeouts over 65.1 innings.
1. OF Cristian Pache
Cristian Pache was just promoted to Triple-A, so he'll need to produce to even be considered, but Atlanta's top prospect has had a big year and could be an impactful player for them down the stretch. The offense is much-improved, and we know what he can do defensively. It wouldn't surprise me to see Pache make a game-saving catch in the outfield or score an important run if he's given the opportunity to come up in September.
