3 Teams Reportedly Emerge in Jackie Bradley Jr. Trade Rumors
Though Jackie Bradley Jr. was tendered a contract on Monday, he's a likely trade candidate for a Boston Red Sox team looking to reduce payroll.
In the day since he was tendered, three primary candidates have reportedly emerged as potential landing spots for the 2018 ALCS MVP.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets are all reportedly interested in trading for Bradley, who is one of the best defensive center fielders in the MLB. Each of the interested teams has front office connections with the Red Sox and a need in the outfield.
Bradley Jr. had a rough year at the plate in 2019, slashing a poor .221/.317/.421, but his 21 home runs are respectable for a center fielder.
The Red Sox will likely look to offload Bradley Jr.'s $11 million projected contract in 2020 in order to get below the luxury tax threshold, so expect these teams, all of whom have room to spend, to take a flyer on the Gold Glove outfielder.
