3 Teams That Should Trade for Kevin Love
After the loss of LeBron James to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers decided it was time to rebuild the organization. But this rebuild won't be complete until they can offload Kevin Love and his massive contract. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, finding a trade partner for Love hasn't been easy. Here are three teams that need Kevin Love and may have a trade partner that can help the Cavaliers finish their rebuild.
1. New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans have just acquired an abundance of young talent through the Anthony Davis trade with the Lakers and are awaiting the arrival of soon-to-be No. 1 draft pick Zion Williamson. These players give the Pelicans a strong foundation to contend in the East, but they would still be in need of an All-Star caliber veteran who knows how to win in the postseason. They also have the no. 4 pick in the upcoming draft, which could be an adequate trade chip for the Cavs star.
2. Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets need talent and they need it fast in order to convince Kemba Walker to stay in Charlotte. Kevin Love could be just enough to do that. He will also greatly improve the lack of production in the front court. The Hornets may have to lose some young talent or draft picks, but an established big man who knows about winning championships is what the Hornets need to keep Kemba and contend right now.
3. Houston Rockets
Houston has made everyone except James Harden available this offseason, and the latest reports of a rift between CP3 and The Beard could compel the Rockets to pursue outside talent. With Clint Capela considered a movable asset, perhaps the Rockets and Cavaliers can work out a deal that would allow Love to head down to Houston. He's a beast on the boards and would provide another jump shooter to add to Mike D'Antoni's arsenal. Money could be a sticking point here, but the Rockets could be a solid fit.
