3 Teams Who Should Trade for Redskins WR Josh Doctson
By Daniel Marcillo
Redskins receiver Josh Doctson has been a major disappointment throughout his first three years in Washington and it seems the franchise is beginning to give up on him. The Redskins have been shopping Doctson over the last two seasons, but no one wants to take a risk on him. Well, they made him available for trade once again on Monday, and here are three teams who should take a risk on Doctson.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
Dede Westbrook was the Jags' top receiver last season with 66 receptions for 717 yards. The rest of the group was below average and no one else had a season that topped 500 yards. The Jaguars finally got the quarterback they wanted in Nick Foles, but if they want to make it back the AFC Championship game they will need a better group of receivers.
2. New York Giants
With Golden Tate suspended for the first four games of the season, the Giants will need to find a way to replace his production for the time being. A healthy Sterling Shepard will certainly help, but Tate led all receivers with 23 missed tackles last season. Doctson will not be able to replace that, but a trade to a division rival could give him the focus he has been missing as a Redskin.
1. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins receiving corp was one of the worst in football last season. None of their receivers topped the 600 yard mark and fail to be a consistent and reliable option. Albert Wilson is coming back from major hip injury and DeVante Parker has to prove he is not a bust. Doctson should insert a burst of energy into a receiver group who seems to need a boost of energy to reach their potential.
