Boston's farm system may be among the worst in the league, but that doesn't mean there aren't any prospects that can help the team out. A weak farm system is oft the result of selling out for a championship, which is exactly what the Red Sox did, having traded away top prospects like Michael Kopech and Yoán Moncada. Still, Boston's farm system isn't completely dry, so here are three top prospects that Red Sox fans can expect to see in the MLB at some point this year.

1. C.J. Chatham- SS

While Chatham certainly won't take Xander Bogaerts' spot on the roster any time soon, it wouldn't be surprising if Boston called him up later in the season as some added depth. He's currently in Double-A, slashing .324/.375/.419 with 15 RBI and 10 XBH.

2. Bobby Dalbec- 3B

Dalbec is a legitimate defender at third base that has flashed insane power in the minors. The team's No. 3 prospect boasts a .519 slugging percentage in Double-A this year and could provide a viable defensive alternative to Rafael Devers at third base without completely removing his offense from the order. He's also seen time at first base, giving him another positional option for his future call-up.

3. Mike Shawaryn- RHP

If nothing else, Shawaryn, Boston's 13th ranked prospect will likely see time as a swingman, especially if Brian Johnson's injury issues persist. He has a 2.79 ERA in Triple-A this year and could give the Red Sox some much needed length out of a shaky bullpen. He's fanned 31 batters while walking 12 across 42 innings pitched.
