3 Upsets That Will Happen in Week 13 of College Football
By Mark Powell
You've activated a trap game!
We're oh so close to rivalry week, meaning there will be upsets abound in what's become one of the most unpredictable slates on the college football schedule. While coach-speak may convince you these top-ranked teams are focused, never forget that they're comprised of 18-22 year olds. There are distractions aplenty, and this trio is about to get burned.
3. Indiana Over No. 13 Michigan
Yes, you heard that right. Just two weeks from their annual rivalry game against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Shea Patterson and the Michigan Wolverines are already overlooking the Indiana Hoosiers! IU is 7-3 on the year and is fresh off scaring Penn State before their very own top-ranked matchup the next week at Ohio State. Indiana was made for the trap game.
2. West Virginia Over No. 21 Oklahoma State
Jarret Doege just led WVU to a surprising upset of Kansas State on the road, and Oklahoma State just lost QB Spencer Sanders for the season. It's a recipe for an upset, and the Pokes play the Oklahoma Sooners next week in their annual rivalry game. Game, Mountaineers.
1. Illinois Over No. 17 Iowa
Lovie Smith and his glorious beard have won four games in a row to make Illinois bowl eligible. They've already upset Wisconsin this season, and Iowa could very well be next. The Hawkeyes are fresh off an upset of their own against Minnesota, meaning a letdown is in the cards.
