39-Year-Old Albert Pujols Played 3rd Base Tuesday and We Have a Lot of Questions
By Adam Weinrib

Albert Pujols: living legend. Prodigious power. Aging body. None of the descriptors you would deign to use to describe the future Hall of Famer would involve his defensive skills at first base at this point, though.
Pujols used to feature cat-like reflexes. Now, he's a hitter by trade, and a designated one at that, in an ideal world.
Except for Tuesday. On Tuesday, he was a third baseman, for no apparent reason.
At 39 years, 202 days, Pujols is MLB's oldest to play third base since 41-year-old Alex Rodriguez on August 12, 2016 in his final career game. https://t.co/JixGCksFVa

Pujols served as one of the oldest third basemen you'll ever see IN A THREE-RUN GAME. That's not many runs! Not a blowout! What's going on?
The Reds took this one home, but through no fault of Pujols'.

Anytime you can join a short list featuring an elderly A-Rod, playing third base ceremonially, you've simply got to do it.
Go easy on the man, though. He's got a resumé to fill.
With his 650th HR yesterday, @PujolsFive joined an elite list.

Third base is just another stepping stone on the road to collecting every accolade.
