4 Bold Predictions for Week 10 Showdown Between Georgia and Florida
By Jerry Trotta
Saturday's slate of college football games is highlighted by an absolute doozy that will have massive CFB Playoff implications, as the No.6 Florida Gators will take on the No.8 Georgia Bulldogs.
Highly-profiled tilts such as these are always bound to deliver outliers, and, with that in mind, here are four bold predictions that we could see materialize.
4. D'Andre Swift Runs for 150 Yards
The Gators currently have the No.12 ranked scoring defense in the nation, but let's remember that LSU hung 42 points against them a few short weeks ago. Florida's D is extremely vulnerable against the run, as Tigers tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire scampered for over 130 yards in that game. Expect the same kind of dominance from D'Andre Swift on Saturday afternoon.
3. Jake Fromm Throws Three Interceptions
Make no mistake about it, folks, Georgia is thoroughly regretting their decision to let Justin Fields enter the transfer portal this past offseason. They opted to hand the offensive keys to Jake Fromm, the more "developed pocket passer," and he's been markedly ordinary through the first seven games of 2019. He's thrown just nine touchdowns thus far, and we expect those struggles to continue, so much so that the Gators pick him off three times this weekend.
2. Kyle Trask Has a Career Day
Georgia is fresh off shutting out Kentucky in Week 7, but don't think for a second that their defense will personify the same kind of dominance against Florida. Kyle Trask has thrown for over 500 yards and seven touchdowns in his last two games, and we predict that he will have a similar type of success against the Dawgs, en route to a career day.
1. Florida Wins by a Touchdown
If this isn't bold, we don't know what is. Most betting lines have Kirby Smart's squad favored by five points over Dan Mullen's side, but we fully expect the Gators to walk out of this rivalry affair with a dub, thus neutralizing the Bulldogs' College Football Playoff hopes.
