4 Coaches Who Should Be Fired Next After Willie Taggart

After being handed the keys to a program that was ranked in the Top 5 for 13 straight years, plays in an easy conference, and won a championship half a decade ago, Willie Taggart was put out of his misery after winning just nine of his 21 games in Tallahassee. The seat on these four college football coaches was just as hot as Taggart's was before he got the axe, and should be even hotter now that the first domino has fallen.

4. Charlie Strong, USF

He should never have left Louisville. After fizzling out at Texas, Strong was supposed to rebuild himself at USF. After going 10-2 in his first year and starting out last season 7-0, Strong and the Bulls have gone just 4-10 since in a cold streak that would make Mark Richt blush. Strong has almost ruined USF's reputation as one of the best Group of Five schools in the country, and a change of leadership in Tampa is necessary of the Bulls want to get out of neutral.

3. Chad Morris, Arkansas

Where to even begin with this one? Morris has utterly failed in trying to replicate his success at SMU in Fayetteville, as the Razorbacks have won just four of his 21 games in charge and have yet to win an SEC game, mixing in some losses against San Jose State and North Texas for good measure. Morris is now on his third quarterback, but he has still yet to create an offense that resembles anything like the Arkansas teams of yesteryear. The days of Ryan Mallett and Darren McFadden show what this program can be when it's at full strength, but the Razorbacks aren't sniffing that territory with Morris as the coach.

2. Pat Fitzgerald, Northwestern

Northwestern, who currently is 130th out of 130 teams in points scored, are the owners of a historically bad offense that is taking football back to the Stone Age, With a 5-star recruit in Hunter Johnson as well as an overmatched Aidan Smith, Wildcats quarterbacks are completing 47% of their passes, have thrown just TWO touchdowns to 11 picks. They have six points in their last three games, and 31 in their last five. It's hard to get fired at your alma mater, especially when you've been their forever, but Fitzgerald will almost certainly be kicked out after this year, as a matchup against UMass is the only game they have a shot of winning.

1. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan

Yes, Harbaugh has this program winning 9-10 games again, which is what Michigan really was during the Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr eras. However, both Schembechler and Carr beat Ohio State and won the conference every now and again, and Harbaugh has yet to do either of those things. A win over Notre Dame in the pouring rain has likely bought him some more time, but Harbaugh could once again find himself out of a job if he fails to bring some kind of championship to Ann Arbor once again in year 4.
