4 Possible Trade Destinations For Pistons Center Andre Drummond

The Detroit Pistons have finally realized that a proper rebuild is in the cards, and they could get a jump start on that process by trading away star center Andre Drummond for a return of players and draft picks. These four teams could be a potential landing spot, as they either need a center to aid them in a championship run and could give Detroit a solid haul of assets in return.

4. Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks have already been in contact with the Pistons over a potential Drummond trade. While adding him doesn't make much sense for a team currently at the bottom of the East, the Hawks do need a dominant interior presence to compliment Trae Young at the point, and they would clearly give the Pistons a boatload of either draft picks or blooming young talent in exchange for the best rebounder in the game.

3. Boston Celtics

Daniel Theis has improved nicely from last year to this, but let's not act like he's going to be a starting center on a team that wins a championship. The Celtics still have an army of picks to give away, and could part with some players on their roster that should be deemed expendable. Drummond would give them a monstrous force on the glass and a capable defender, something they lack when Enes Kanter is deployed as the team's center.

2. Toronto Raptors

The Raptors' style of basketball is predicated around a dominant frontcourt of Pascal Siakam, Serge Ibaka, and veteran defensive stopper Marc Gasol. With Gasol still on the mend with a hamstring injury, the time is right for Masai Ujiri to swing for the fences again and bring in a center like Drummond that can bruise down low in the paint and bring his rebounding prowess to the Raptors. With him and Siakam on the floor at the same time, Toronto could bludgeon playoff opponents to death.

1. Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks already have their transcendent superstar in Luka Doncic and their versatile second option in Kristaps Porzingis, but they lack that center inside that can haul in offensive and defensive rebounds and add a dimension of toughness to this Dallas team. Drummond in the starting lineup cab make up for Porzingis' deficiencies in the post, while giving a young Dallas team a veteran leader that can help during a playoff push. Dallas isn't swarming with draft capital, but it's the among the most logical fits for Drummond.
