4-Star 2020 DB Makari Paige Stays Home and Commits to Michigan
Jim Harbaugh has added one more impressive piece to his 2020 recruiting class at the University of Michigan.
4-star DB Makari Paige became the 24th recruit of the class after announcing his verbal commitment to the Wolverines Tuesday afternoon.
Paige is a big grab for U of M's defense. With a 6-3, 190-pound build, he will add versatility and size to the secondary.
Paige was also considering Big Ten opponents such as Ohio State and Penn State, but ultimately decided to stay at home and rep the blue and maize. He grew up a fan of the Wolverines and the coaching staff made him a priority target down the stretch of his recruitment due to his ability to fit the defensive schemes.
The defensive back is used to the Michigan style defense after playing high school ball for former Wolverine Ron Bellamy, who implemented defensive coordinator Don Brown's full system.
Paige is the third DB commitment of the class and will be joined by Jordan Morant and RJ Moten when he officially gets on campus. He's also the fourth in-state commitment for Harbaugh, coming alongside linebacker Cornell Wheeler, defensive end Braiden McGregor, and cornerback Andre Seldon.
