Despite the recruiting dead period, the Georgia Bulldogs could be in for some big news in regards to the Class of 2021, while delivering a major blow to Notre Dame as well.

4-star wide receiver Deion Colzie has decommitted from Notre Dame, instead opting to test the waters rather than join Brian Kelly and Co. in South Bend. That news could work out quite well for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, as Colzie's hometown happens to be Athens.

"This has been weighing on me for about three weeks, so I called coach Kelly and decommitted," Colzie told Rivals. "It was not easy to do, but it was something I needed to do. It is the best decision for me."

Colzie would be a valuable addition to a Georgia offense, which could feature Dwan Mathis as starter. The Dawgs are in the running for several top QBs in the 2021 class as well, and should be set at the position long after Jamie Newman leaves the school.

Currently sitting at No. 21 in the 2021 team rankings, per 247sports, Georgia needs to secure some top talent to make up for subpar effort thus far. Adding Colzie ought to help matters if they can pull it off.
