4-Star RB Commits to Georgia Less Than One Week to National Signing Day
You knew it was only a matter of time before Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs would find a playmaker to replace former 5-star signee Zach Evans. Well, the news just came in.
On Thursday afternoon, 4-star running back Daijun Edwards announced he has shut down his recruitment and will ink with the Bulldogs next week.
Edwards is ranked the No. 33 RB in the country and chose UGA over additional tenders from Arkansas, Florida State, Auburn, Colorado and many others. For the Bulldogs, they've also landed an in-state product, as he hails from Moultrie.
With Edwards on board, Georgia now has three unsigned commitments who will be making things official next Wednesday during National Signing Day. He joins Broderick Jones and Sedrick Van Pran.
For Georgia fans hoping Evans would end up in Athens, this all but shuts the door on any kind of a reunion with Smart and Co. Edwards appears to have taken his spot, and will be ready to make moves for the team's offense.
