This 49ers-Browns Trade Involving Odell Beckham Jr. Could Actually Work

We've heard limited buzz this offseason about the possibility of the Cleveland Browns trading star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. after just a season with the team, but as always with chatter of that magnitude, there have been conflicting assessments regarding the likelihood of such a move going down.

But this is the NFL offseason and we're here to shed light on all reasonable possibilities, which includes exploring OBJ getting dealt to the San Francisco 49ers.

A lot of things line up here. Beckham's cap hit for 2020 is $14.25 million and San Fran has nearly $17 million in cap space remaining. Perhaps John Lynch can restructure a contract or two in order to create room for the incoming draft class. On top of that, they won't have to use the No. 13 pick in the draft on a wide receiver and instead explore other areas of need with the favorable selection. More offensive linemen or defensive backs never hurt.

Maybe they can ship a player to the Browns in the deal as well to get rid of some money? How does San Fran's No. 31 overall pick and safety Jaquiski Tartt, who is owed $6.275 million in the final year of his deal, sound? Cleveland needs a safety after the departure of Damarious Randall and reports suggested they were taking a look at Vikings veteran Anthony Harris. While Cleveland was able to bring in Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo, they still need more help at the position, unless they're comfortable giving significant snaps to the likes of Sheldrick Redwine opposite of him (they shouldn't be).

Niners fans could be split on that package considering Tartt is a good player at an even better cost, but the price won't be cheap and getting OBJ in his prime for four years would do wonders for Jimmy Garoppolo. Just imagine the possibilities with Beckham in Kyle Shanahan's offense.
