49ers DC Robert Saleh Has Perfect Response to Question About Super Bowl Ring He Won With Seahawks
By Scott Rogust
The San Francisco 49ers are heading to their first Super Bowl in nearly seven years. Plenty of credit can be given to the performance of their stout defense, led by defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.
Saleh has postseason and championship experience, having been on the Seahawks' coaching staff during their Super Bowl XLVIII run.
Leading up to this year's championship, Saleh was asked by the media if he still wears the Super Bowl ring he picked up in Seattle, to which the defensive coordinator gave the perfect response.
Way to play up to the fanbase, Robert! But who can blame him. Why flaunt the enemy's championship in the Bay Area? That wouldn't be wise.
Saleh's work has been praised around the league. All four starting defensive lineman are capable of pressuring opposing QBs, and the secondary, led by Richard Sherman, puts the passing game on lockdown.
Now, Saleh will have probably his toughest challenge to date on Feb. 2. He'll have to devise a game-plan to shut down quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and speedy wide receiver Tyreek Hill. That's no easy feat.
But if anyone is capable of doing so, it's Saleh, who's looking to earn a Super Bowl ring that he can actually flaunt around San Francisco.
