49ers Promote TE Garrett Celek to Active Roster Amid Concerns George Kittle Won't Play
By Michael Luciano

The San Francisco 49ers face the very real possibility that they will go into a primetime game against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks without the services of All-Pro tight end George Kittle, who is currently nursing knee and ankle injuries.
In preparation that they could play without Kittle, San Francisco activated veteran TE Garrett Celek from the PUP list. Celek and former Stanford tight end Levine Toilolo will likely be tasked with manning Kittle's spot.
49ers activated TE Garrett Celek to the active roster from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List, another sign that George Kittle will not play tonight vs. Seattle.

Kittle, who set the single-season record for receiving yards by a tight end last year with 1,377, has 541 yards on 46 catches and two touchdowns in eight games this year. Kittle is the only tight end in the league who has been targeted 25 or more times and failed to drop a single pass.
That safety net could be missing for Jimmy G tonight.

The 49ers may be getting both Mike McGlinchey and Kyle Juszczyk back from injury, but the loss of Kittle would be massive if this game comes down to the wire and Garoppolo's favorite target is in sweatpants on the sideline.
