49ers DT Jullian Taylor Suffered Season-Ending ACL Injury During Practice on Thursday

In an incredibly unfortunate turn of events, the San Francisco 49ers lost one of their key depth pieces on the defensive line.
With the playoffs looming and seeding still yet to be determined, second-year lineman Jullian Taylor suffered a season-ending ACL injury at practice on Thursday.
Taylor, a former seventh-round draft pick back in 2018, will be replaced by 285-pound practice squad defensive tackle Kevin Givens. The latter will now be thrown into the fire of high stakes football, even if he only serves in a limited role.
Taylor joins a laundry list of 49ers players to suffer season-ending injuries this year.
Though 2019 was not necessarily a breakout campaign for Taylor, he did experience some success. He registered four tackles for loss and a fumble recovery in his six appearances for the 49ers. He was no slouch, and he contributed on defense when he was given the chance.
Now, though, Taylor will have to watch from the sidelines as his teammates prepare to march their way into the playoffs,
Hopefully he can make a speedy recovery and come back stronger than ever before for the 2020 campaign.
