49ers' Nick Bosa Named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year
By Karl Rasmussen

Nick Bosa made a huge impact during his rookie year for the 49ers, altering the landscape of the defensive line and helping the team become one of the most dominant units in the league.
During the NFL Honors ceremony, Bosa earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, deservedly so after the monster season he put together in the trenches.

The No. 2 overall pick featured in all 16 games for the 49ers, recording 47 tackles, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception and 25 QB hits.
Heralded as the most talented player in the 2019 NFL Draft, Bosa showcased his worth on the edge and helped anchor a masterful Niners' defense which surrendered the second-fewest yards per game, trailing only the Patriots.
Bosa isn't even the first member of his family to win the award, as his brother Joey took home the honors after the 2016 season as a member of the Chargers.

While he'll surely be pleased with the individual honor, we all know it's the Lombardi Trophy the rookie is really pursuing.
