VIDEO: New Teammates Richard Sherman and Trent Williams Got in a Fight After Seahawks-Redskins Game in 2013
By Michael Luciano
Trent Williams became the newest member of the San Francisco 49ers when John Lynch traded two draft picks, including a third-round pick in 2021, to the Washington Redskins in exchange for the seven-time Pro Bowler. Unfortunately for Williams, that means he will become teammates with cornerback Richard Sherman. Williams famously confronted Sherman after a game against the Seattle Seahawks in 2013, and the 300-pound lineman landed a clean sucker punch on the 210-pound corner.
Sherman made his name in the NFL as a mouthy corner before he showed that he is a truly elite ballhawk, and that mouth forced Williams to unload a haymaker on an unsuspecting Sherman.
49ers CEO Jed York tried to diffuse the situation, claiming that while he hated Sherman when he was on the Seahawks, he found out that Sherman is a perfect teammate during his tenure with the 49ers.
Williams and Sherman certainly didn't get off to the best start, but these two old enemies better make nice if they want to help the 49ers get back to the promised land.
