The lottery picks from the 2019 NBA Draft will be expected to anchor their respective teams for the foreseeable future. But as we know, especially after watching the Toronto Raptors win the title, that's not always the case, and who you get in the second round can make a huge difference.

Don't get me wrong, teams need to hit on their top picks to be successful, but you can find some real treasures in the later part of the draft. Here are the five best second round picks from the 2019 NBA Draft.

5. C Bruno Fernando, 34th Overall (Atlanta Hawks)

Maryland v LSU
Maryland v LSU / Mike Ehrmann

When it's all said and done, and when the trade becomes official, Maryland center Bruno Fernando will be a member of the Atlanta Hawks. He's a great fit in Atlanta, and with all the shooters they have already, Fernando can do what he does best: rebound. He's a big body who is hard to handle in the paint. Fernando has the upside to be a valued role player down the road.

4. G/F Admiral Schofield, 42nd Overall (Washington Wizards)

Purdue v Tennessee
Purdue v Tennessee / Kevin C. Cox

For the first time since I can remember, the Washington Wizards bought a second round pick after not having one this year. Not only did they get into the second round, but they grabbed a great player in Admiral Schofield who showed toughness at Tennessee and already has an NBA physique. This pick could really pay off for the lowly Wizards, who are in need of a big break right about now.

3. PF Eric Paschall, 41st Overall (Golden State Warriors)

Oh, look. The Golden State Warriors grabbed a big man in the second round who is a lights out shooter and fits perfectly into their system. Surprise, surprise. A former Villanova standout, Paschall could be an immediate role player for a Warriors team who needs to fill out their roster on the cheap. This was an excellent pick for the Dubs.

2. PG Carsen Edwards, 33rd Overall (Boston Celtics)

Purdue v Virginia
Purdue v Virginia / Kevin C. Cox

I'm not telling you that Purdue's Carsen Edwards is going to be Derrick Rose, but he has plenty of similarities to his game. Edwards provides instant scoring, both from deep and in the paint, which is something the Boston Celtics could use coming off the bench. This was a perfect trade for Boston, who might have a gem on their hands. He showed off his incredible scoring capabilities during the NCAA Tournament, and let's see if he can contribute similarly at the next level.

1. C Bol Bol, 44th Overall (Denver Nuggets)

Bol Bol would've easily been a lottery pick if he was able to stay healthy at Oregon, but the 7-foot-2 center ended up falling all the way to the second round. Bol may have high upside, as he has range and can do a lot of things on the floor, but he's incredibly risky because of his frail body. However, for the Nuggets to trade in and select Bol midway through the second round, this could be a steal. After all, despite playing just nine games, Bol netted more than 50% of his 3-point opportunities as a freshman.
