5 Ohio State Players Who Will Enter the NFL Draft Early
The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered a gut-wrenching loss against Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday night. A team with so much talent is filled with NFL Draft prospects and several Buckeyes underclassmen may choose to test the Draft waters instead of returning to school. These five players are among the most likely to leave early for the NFL.
5. Baron Browning
Baron Browning dealt with injuries in 2019 and that could push him to the decision to declare for the NFL Draft. He had five sacks as a linebacker and is listed at 6-3, 248 pounds. He can prove himself even more in 2020, but he is already poised to be an NFL player.
4. Jeff Okudah
Jeff Okudah's name is a familiar one for anyone reading 2020 mock drafts. He is a top rated cornerback and has been since he has arrived in Columbus. He easily gets a first-round grade and he should jump on the opportunity while it is there. He has nothing left to prove in college now that he is considered a top draft prospect.
3. Shaun Wade
Shaun Wade was ejected on a questionable targeting call against Clemson and that could have been his final play in a Buckeyes uniform. He is a redshirt sophomore who plays corner and stands over 6-0 tall. He played in Okudah's shadow a bit, but still managed to get his name in the conversation of being a first or second-round pick. Leaving now allows him to get paid while his value is high.
2. J.K. Dobbins
Dobbins' heart and love for Ohio State can't be measured. He fought through an ankle injury against Clemson and still finished with 174 yards. His NFL Draft stock is also high, with teams obviously interested in his amazing talents. He can really make a defense pay. He's got NFL pro written all over him. Will he make the leap in 2020?
1. Chase Young
Chase Young's value is sky-high right now and he may only be behind Joe Burrow on the Cincinnati Bengals' draft board. He had 16.5 sacks even after missing two games and teams had to double-team him just to contain him. Young hasn't announced a decision just yet, but it seems likely he'll head to the NFL and be taken either No. 1 or No. 2 overall.
