5-Star Georgia Commit Won’t Sign Just Yet With Auburn Visit Looming
By Chris Russo
The Georgia Bulldogs will have to wait patiently before they bring in their next great offensive tackle.
5-star recruit Broderick Jones has decided against signing for a program during the Early Signing Period. Jones, a Bulldogs commit, will delay his decision until February, due to a significant late push from Auburn.
Jones, the No. 3 ranked player nationally at his position, verbally committed to Georgia back in April of 2018. While Georgia sent him the early signing papers, he has yet to sign them. He will visit Auburn in January and make official visits to both schools before making his ultimate decision.
The 5-star OL ranks as the fourth best player out of Georgia and the 18th best player in the nation. He is a towering presence at 6-6 and 300 pounds.
Though Jones seems to show the most interest in Georgia and Auburn, he has also received offers from powerhouses Alabama, LSU, and Clemson, as well as Maryland and Tennessee.
Jones has been committed to Georgia since he was just a sophomore, and still unranked nationally on rivals.com's boards. With his stock rising, so has the interest from various programs, which has resulted in the strong impression left by the Tigers of late.
